§ Beverley HughesEstimates are available from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) on the overall migration of persons to and from the United Kingdom (UK), where migration is defined in terms of a change of country of residence for a year or longer. These data include temporary migration of, for example, students and workers. The available statistics for 1995 to 2000, are given in the table.
