HL Deb 09 July 2002 vol 637 cc78-9WA
Lord Judd

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What discussions they have had with the World Bank on the recent sale of a British-made air traffic control system to Tanzania and on its merits in terms of the economic and social needs of that country. [HL4777]

Baroness Amos

DfID has had discussions with the World Bank and the Government of Tanzania (GoT) about the air traffic control issue.

The World Bank has recently funded the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) to review Tanzania's civil air navigation requirements. The ICAO has produced its report, which the GoT are now considering.
