To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many primary care trusts had chief executives in post on 1 April, who were professionally qualified as general practitioners, dentists, pharmacists or opticians. [54714]

Of the primary care trust chief executives in post on 1 April 2002, 12 were professionally qualified as general practitioners, dentists, pharmacists or opticians.
