To ask the Prime Minister if he will make a statement on paragraph 30 of the Intelligence and Security Committee annual report 2001–02 with specific reference to the resources available to the Interception of Communications Commissioner. [65151]

The Prime Minister

As stated in the Government Response to the Intelligence and Security Committee's annual report for 2001–02, officials are discussing with the Commissioner what extra resources would be required to deal with the anticipated increase in work. The Government will make available to the Commissioner an appropriate level of resources to enable him to carry out his responsibilities.
