To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions how many deaths at work there were in(a) the UK and (b) Buckinghamshire in each year since 1997. [30053]

The number of deaths of employees and self-employed people reported to the Health and Safety Executive and local authorities between 1997–98 and 2000–01 were as follows.
