To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions if he will make a statement on the cost to public funds in(a) 2000–01 and (b) 2001–02 of regulations introduced by his Department in 2000–01. [19261]

We are satisfied that the benefits of regulations introduced by the Department in 2000–01 justify the cost to public funds.
