To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions if he will make a statement on the local government finance settlement for the metropolitan authorities. [28458]

§ Mr. Raynsford
The final local government finance settlement for 2002–03 was made available to the House and published yesterday.
The settlement gives a 4.8 per cent, increase in general grant for metropolitan authorities.
