When they expect to complete the procedures for the ratification by the United Kingdom of the 1970 UNESCO Convention on the Means of Prohibiting 19WA the Illicit Import, Export and Exchange of Ownership of Cultural Property. [HL2325]

My predecessor as Minister for the Arts (Alan Howarth) announced to Parliament in March 2001 that the Government intended to accede to the 1970 UNESCO Convention. I hope to be able to make a further announcement to this House shortly.
