The hon. Member's letter of 31 July and subsequent follow up letters have been transferred to the Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions as flood damage to highways is their area of responsibility.

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, pursuant to the answer of 15 January 2002, ref. 26357, if she will make a statement on the reasons for the delay in responding to the letter to the hon. Member for West Chelmsford sent to him via the Foreign Office on 12 June 2001 re Dr. Reza Hussain. [28876]
