HC Deb 21 January 2002 vol 378 cc639-40W
Bob Russell

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department when the Lord Chancellor last used the railway service in connection with this official duties; what station he left from and to what destination; and whether it is his intention to make greater use of the railways in future. [28103]

Mr. Wills

The Lord Chancellor last used the railway service in connection with his official duties on 11 January—the date of his most recent official visit. The journey was between Gatwick Airport and London Victoria. The Lord Chancellor will continue to use the railway for official travel as appropriate. All arrangements for official travel are made in line with the guidance set out in Chapter 7 of the "Ministerial Code", and the accompanying guidance document "Travel by Ministers", using the most efficient and cost effective mode of transport, and bearing in mind security considerations.
