HC Deb 18 January 2002 vol 378 c533W
Mr. Todd

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what recent representations he has received concerning the availability of recombinant clotting factors to haemophilia patients in England; and if he will make a statement. [26423]

Yvette Cooper

Departmental officials discussed the availability of recombinant clotting factors with the Haemophilia Society on 30 November 2001.

We are actively considering extending the provision of recombinant clotting factors to all haemophilia patients in England when supplies allow. Currently the policy is to provide recombinant clotting factors for new haemophilia patients and children under 16.

Dr. Fox

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will list the health authorities and trusts in England which provide recombinant clotting factors to haemophiliac patients aged over 16 years. [27244]
