To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what his estimate is of the cost of private medical insurance tax relief if(a) one million, (b) two million, (c) three million, (d) four million, (e) five million and (f) 10 million qualify for tax relief. [26265]

The cost of any income tax relief for private medical insurance would depend on a number of factors including the type of relief given, the exact requirements for qualification for the relief, as well as the numbers of individuals or policies qualifying. Consequently it is not possible to provide the estimates requested.
