§ Lord Hunt of Kings HeathThe Chief Inspector of Social Services is also the Director for Children, Older People and Social Care in the Department of Health. However, the Social Services Inspectorate is a wholly separate part of the directorate and the chief inspector has a deputy director who also acts as head of policy.
