§ Mr. BradshawWe have a strong relationship with the Government of Egypt: interests in the region are often parallel and Egypt has, in particular, played an important role in the Middle East Peace Process. UK/Egypt trade relations are also very strong and continue to grow. We have concerns about individual cases of human rights abuse in Egypt. We shall continue to encourage the Egyptian authorities, both bilaterally and through the EU, to work towards improving their human rights record.
