To ask the Secretary of State for Health under what exemption in the Ministerial Code on Access to Information he declined to publish the results of the survey of local authorities undertaken by his Department in autumn 2000 to determine the available supply of care home places. [24184]

[holding answer 19 December 2001]The information related to incomplete statistics, where disclosure could be misleading (exemption 11(a)). The latest complete and validated data on the supply of care home places were published on 29 November in "Community Care Statistics 2001: Residential Personal Social Services for Adults, England", copies of which are available in the Library.
