To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what his estimate is of the cost of(a) ministerial cars and drivers and (b) taxis for his Department in each of the last four years. [27899]

In respect of part(a) of his question I refer the hon. Member to the answer he has received from the Cabinet Office on 30 January 2002, Official Report, column 406W.

In respect of part (b), expenditure has been incurred partly through department-wide taxi contracts, partly through local arrangements, and partly through individuals' travel and subsistence claims and it is not possible to provide aggregated figures.
