§ Clare ShortOn 19 September 2001 I announced £25 million to help meet the immediate humanitarian needs in response to the Afghanistan crisis. On 12 October 2001 I announced a further £15 million of humanitarian assistance. These allocations have been fully disbursed through various United Nations agencies, the Red Cross movement and non-governmental organisations.
