How the new strategic health authorities will be expected to consult locally relating to the importance of the health economy to their local areas. [HL2368]

Health improvement and modernisation plans will be drawn up by primary care trusts in consultation with frontline staff, local communities and partners. Strategic health authority chief executives in developing their three-year franchise plans will be required to demonstrate how they will involve local communities and how their authority will secure their delivery.
