Letter from Len Cook to Mr. Peter Wishart, dated 25 February 2002:
As National Statistician I have been asked to reply to your recent question on estimates of household income and individual consumption expenditure in the countries and regions of the United Kingdom. (37564)The latest data available are for the year 1999, and were published as an ONS News Release on 26 July 2001. These data are presented in the attached tables. The ONS is currently compiling estimates for data up to the year 2000 for sub-national household income. We plan to publish these estimates later in the spring. It is planned that estimates for sub-national individual consumption expenditure for the same period will be published in the summer. The publication referred to in this answer is available in the House of Commons Library and on the web at http://www.statistics.gov.uk/regionalaccounts.
