To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills, pursuant to her answer of 4 February 2002,Official Report, column 720W, how much capital funding was provided for new school places in each education authority since 1997. [34656]

We do not hold information in the form requested before 1998–99. The allocation of borrowing approvals to local education authorities for the provision of new school places from 1998–99 until 2002–03 is shown in the table. Local education authorities will be able to confirm actual investment in the provision of school places.
