HC Deb 12 February 2002 vol 380 cc298-9W
Mr. Kevan Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement on the role of local coroners relating to UK nationals who die abroad. [32372]

Beverley Hughes

Coroners in England and Wales must hold an inquest into a death overseas if the body is brought into their jurisdiction, the death reported, and the circumstances are those in which an inquest would be required if the death had occurred here.
