HC Deb 11 February 2002 vol 380 cc125-6W
Mr. Paterson

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will increase funding for voluntary organisations providing care services for people with head injuries. [25452]

Jacqui Smith

[holding answer 9 January 2002]: There are no plans to provide specific funds for voluntary organisations dealing with head injury. Commissioning local services for patients with head injuries is the responsibility of health authorities, trusts and primary care

Increasing consumption of fruit and vegetables is widely recognised as a protection against some cancers and cardiovascular disease. Information about the protection afforded by fruit and vegetables against cancer is set out in the national school fruit scheme booklet, which is supplied to all participating schools. This information is also available on the national school fruit scheme website address www.doh.gov.uk/schoolfruitscheme.
