To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what recent discussions he has had with the US Administration on the future of the Anti-Ballistic Missile treaty. [31908]

Mr. Hoon

I regularly discuss missile defence and related issues with the United States Administration. The future of the Anti-Ballistic Missile treaty is essentially a bilateral issue for the United States and Russia. We welcome the fact that they are continuing to work together to establish a new strategic framework based on openness and mutual trust.
