To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many people were working in(a) endoscopy, (b) therapy radiography, (c) breast screening, (d) cytoscreening and (e) histopathology in each of the past five years. [27248]

Information is not collected centrally on the number of staff performing endoscopy. A range of staff (surgeons, physicians and nurses) may carry out the procedure, depending on how and where the patients present.

The number of qualified therapy radiography staff is shown in the table.

Information is not collected centrally on the number of staff who carry out breast screening. Figures are provided for the number of qualified diagnostic radiography staff, some of whom perform breast screening as part of their job.
