To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills if she will make a statement on the difference in numbers of students entering higher education in(a) England and Wales and (b) Scotland in the last 12 months. [31430]

The latest figures showing the number of students accepted for entry to undergraduate courses are given in the table. We welcome the continuing buoyant recruitment of students in England and Wales.
