To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many children in care turned 16 in the academic years(a) 1996–97, (b) 1997–98 (c) 1998–99, (d) 1999–2000 and (e)2000–01. [31763]

The information in the table approximates to the number of school children in their GCSE year, who had been looked after at any time during their secondary education up to and including that year.
