Letter from Len Cook to Mr. David Willetts, dated 19 December 2002: As National Statistician I have been asked to reply to your recent question on economic inactivity rates. (88215) The attached table lists (a) the 50 local authority areas with the lowest economic inactivity rates and (b) the 50 local authority areas with the highest economic inactivity rates, for the twelve month period ending August 2002. These estimates are from the Labour Force Survey (LFS).
