To ask the Deputy Prime Minister if he will make a statement on the Government's plans to publish a fire safety bill. [87800]

The Government will publish a White Paper on the Fire Service in the spring. This will set out in detail the legislative and other changes required to take forward the modernisation programmes set out in the final report of the Independent Review of the Fire Service.
