HC Deb 02 December 2002 vol 395 c640W
Mr. Flook

To ask the Deputy Prime Minister when he next plans to undertake a street count of those living rough in(a) Bristol and (b) Somerset. [83343]

Mrs. Roche

Local authorities are responsible for homelessness in their areas and as such also take responsibility for the co-ordination and timing of street counts. It is the policy of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister that in areas where more than 10 people are sleeping rough, a count should take place at least every twelve months. This would apply to any local authority areas in Bristol or Somerset.
