HC Deb 02 December 2002 vol 395 c506W
Mrs. Lait

To ask the Advocate-General whether she has been asked to advise the Scottish Executive on the human rights implication of an absolute right to buy under the Agricultural Holdings Bill. [82450]

The Advocate-General for Scotland

The Advocate-General is the principal legal adviser to the Government on matters of Scots law, and it is not her role to provide legal advice to the Scottish Executive. The Scottish Executive has its own Law Officers, the Lord Advocate and Solicitor-General for Scotland.
