To ask the Deputy Prime Minister and First Secretary of State what recent discussions he has had with the First Secretary of the National Assembly for Wales about social exclusion. [49349]

My right hon. Friend and I have not had any discussions with the First Secretary recently regarding social exclusion.

The Social Exclusion Unit, which covers England only, maintains regular official level contact with each of the devolved Administrations.

The Welsh Assembly's work in this area complements national Government policies aimed at tackling poverty and deprivation across the UK.
