To ask the Deputy Prime Minister and First Secretary of State what steps his Department is taking to reduce the regulatory burden on business. [49357]

Mr. Leslie

The Government are committed to better regulation. This means legislating only where necessary, doing so in a light touch way, and reducing regulatory burdens wherever possible.

The Government published their regulatory reform action plan in February. It contains 167 measures that will benefit business.
