HC Deb 23 April 2002 vol 384 cc220-1W
Annabelle Ewing

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what plans he has to relocate executive agencies and non-departmental public bodies under the remit of his Department to Scotland. [47979]

Angela Eagle

[holding answer 10 April 2002]: A number of Home Office executive agencies and non-departmental public bodies (NDPBs) have offices in Scotland. These include the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority, the Forensic Science Service and the United Kingdom Passport Service.

NDPBs and agencies are free to decide their location in the light of their business needs, but I am not aware of plans for any Home Office agency or non-departmental public body (NDPB) to relocate to Scotland.
