HC Deb 23 April 2002 vol 384 cc176-7W
26. Mr. Roger Williams

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions what recent discussions he has had to ensure that a coherent planning system is implemented across the United Kingdom. [49419]

Ms Keeble

Ministers and officials in DTLR have had discussions with colleagues in other Departments and in the devolved administrations about the Green Paper "Planning—Delivering a Fundamental Change". Although responsibility for most aspects of the planning system outside England is for the devolved administrations, similar reform consultation exercises are being undertaken in those areas. The planning system is, and is likely to remain, fundamentally similar across the United Kingdom.
