§ Mr. Ivan Lewis[holding answer 18 April 2002]: A letter was sent by the Department for Education and Skills to all local education authorities (LEAs) in England on 31 July 2001, inviting PFI proposals expected to reach contract signature in 2003–04. The proposal from the City of Bradford metropolitan council was received on 17 December 2001. All LEAs which submitted proposals were notified of the outcome on 25 March 2002.
