HC Deb 19 April 2002 vol 383 c1211W
Mr. Bercow

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department (1) what the difference was between the price offered in reaching preferred bidder stage and the final contract price for the five largest PFI contracts let by his Department in each of the last four years; and if he will make a statement; [45598]

(2) what the difference was between the price offered in reaching preferred bidder stage and the final contract price for PPP contracts let by his Department in each of the last four years; and if he will make a statement. [45613]

Mr. Wills

The only private finance initiative (PFI) or public private partnership contract signed by this Department in the last four years to have gone through a preferred bidder stage was the PFI contract for the Probate Records Centre. There was no change in contract value between the preferred bidder stage and contract signature in July 1999. PH contracts for magistrates' courts have not been included in this reply because they are let by local authorities.
