How many responses they received to the September 2001 consultation Managing Radioactive Waste: The Government's Consultation; how many of those were unsolicited responses from members of the public; and when they expect to announce their plans for the next stage of developing a policy for the long-term management of radioactive waste. Her Majesty's Government have received 280 responses so far to the consultationManaging Radioactive Waste safely, which ended on 12 March. Responses are still being received, and I shall write to the noble Lord with further details as soon as I am able.

We shall announce our plans once we have considered people's views and agreed the next steps with our colleagues in the devolved administrations.
