HC Deb 16 April 2002 vol 383 c855W
Mr. Bercow

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has made of the financial contribution made to the United Kingdom economy by members of the Baltic Exchange. [49473]

Ruth Kelly

The Government value the contribution made to the UK economy by the Baltic Exchange and the supporting maritime services that are located in the UK. International Financial Services London (IFSL) have estimated that the Baltic Exchange and its associated ship brokers contributed £327 million to the UK's overseas earnings in 2000.
