To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills how much funding has been received by the(a)National School Leadership College and (b)General Teaching Council from her Department in each year since its creation. [47741]

Grant in aid funding provided by this Department to the National College for School Leadership (NCSL) and the General Teaching Council (GTC) is as follows:

¹Grant in aid payments to the NCSL began in April 2001.

²Grant in aid payments to the GTC began in September 2000. Funding in 2000–01 therefore covered the period September 2000 to March 2001 inclusive.
