HL Deb 03 April 2002 vol 633 cc83-4WA
Lord Hylton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will ensure that it remains lawful to hunt rats and mink with dogs; and [HL3501]

Whether they consider that local opinion, perhaps on a county basis, would provide a suitable way for deciding the future of hunting. [HL3502]

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Lord Whitty)

Following his Statement on 21 March, my right honourable friend the Minister of State for Rural Affairs will consider all constructive ideas on the practical issues towards resolving the matter of hunting with dogs.
