§ Lord RookerWhen Yarl's Wood detention centre opens later this year, the total number of places available for immigration detainees in the detention estate will increase by 900. We remain committed to pursuing a strategy of detaining people in dedicated detention facilities of this kind and reducing reliance on Prison Service accommodation.
