To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what steps he plans to take to promote the Barcelona process following the events of 11 September. [8807]

The UK has always been a strong supporter of the Barcelona process. We welcome the EU's commitment at the General Affairs Council on 8 Octoberto continue its close contacts with its partners in the Barcelona Process, notably at the Ministerial meeting on 6 November and the Ghent European Council conclusion that it is essential to encourage a dialogue of equals between our civilisations, particularly in the framework of the Barcelona Process".
