To ask the Secretary of State for Health what steps he is taking to speed up the processing of the registration of overseas nurses at Yeovil District Hospital by the United Kingdom Central Council for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting; and if he will make a statement. [10543]

Registration is a matter for the United Kingdom Central Council for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting (UKCC). However, the UKCC advises that a number of these applications for registration have now been processed. The UKCC is awaiting further information in order to complete the work on the remaining applications.
