To ask the Secretary of State for Health what the average age at retirement of GP principals was in each year since 1974. [9058]

The indicative average retirement age, based on past experience, of principal and assistant medical practitioners, in normal health, at each quinquennial valuation of the National Health Service Pension Scheme for England and Wales is set out in the table.
