HL Deb 22 October 2001 vol 627 cc113-4WA
Baroness Noakes

asked Her Majesty's Government:

In respect of the sale of the Millennium Dome site (a) how much total expenditure has been incurred by English Partnerships up to 30 June 2001; (b) how much expenditure is expected to be incurred by English Partnerships in the period to 31 December 2001 and later periods; and (c) what are the principal terms of that expenditure incurred or expected to be incurred by English Partnerships. [HL660]

The Minister of State, Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions (Lord Falconer of Thoroton)

Following the end of the last competition on 15 February 2001, English Partnerships has incurred £2.2 million in connection with the sale of the Dome up to 30 June 2001.

Between 1 July 2001 and 31 December 2001, English Partnerships expects to incur costs of around £6 million for fees and costs associated with the decommissioning of the Dome and an average of around £240,000 per month for maintenance and management related costs.

Costs after 31 December 2001 will depend largely on a number of factors related to the outcome of the ongoing sale process.

English Partnerships will recover any sale process, decommissioning, maintenance and associated. costs from eventual sale proceeds.
