1258WThe Labour Force Survey (LFS) can provide estimates of the total number of employees in the public sector due to reach state retirement age in the next five, 10 and 15 years. That is, men aged 60–64,55–64, and 50–64 and women aged 55–59, 50–59 and 45–59 respectively. Estimates for the number of employees in the public sector for the age breakdowns and their proportions of the total number of employees of working age in the public sector are shown in the table.
The LFS does not collect information on the retirement intentions of individuals.
