asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will implement the recommendations of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission's report on effectiveness made to the Secretary of State in February. [HL463]

We were pleased to receive the recommendations from the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission under section 69(2) of the Northern Ireland Act 1998. We are currently considering all of the recommendations and will respond to these fully in due course.

Whether they intend to amend the Northern Ireland Act 1998 to empower the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commisson to intervene as a third party in any court, tribunal, inquest, hearing or adjudicative process involving law, policy or practice relating to the promotion or protection of human rights in Northern Ireland. [HL464]
