HC Deb 15 October 2001 vol 372 c930W
Matthew Taylor

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will place in the Library a list of the individuals who are excluded from entering Britain because exclusion orders have been served on them, specifying in each case the date on which the order was served and the reason for which the order was served. It is Home Office policy not to reveal any individual's immigration status to a third party. I am unable, therefore, to provide a list of named individuals who are currently excluded from the United Kingdom.

The Home Secretary's personal power to exclude is used carefully to ensure the protection of public order, national security, and for purposes of foreign relations. In the year 2000 26 people were excluded. Since 1990 a total of 297 people have been excluded.
