To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) if he will make a statement on the contribution of Customs and Excise to the Government's counter-terrorism policy; [7657]

(2) what plans he has to (a) increase the number of posts in Customs and Excise and (b) redeploy staff within Customs and Excise as part of the Government's response to the terrorist attacks of 11 September. [7661]
