§ Mr. Quentin Davies
To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if the post of Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland will be advertised internationally. [16307]

§ Jane Kennedy
In accordance with section 35(1) of the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 2000, the Northern Ireland Policing Board shall, subject to my approval, appoint the Chief Constable of the Police Service of Northern Ireland. It will be a matter in the first instance for the Board to consider whether to advertise the post internationally.
